The Life Questions Module — SHAPE Teens Mentorship

Inspired by Dr. Myles Munroe's 5 big life questions, this module guides teens through identity, source, purpose, potential and destiny — adapted for youth using the SHAPE framework.

The Life Questions Module helps teens move from confusion to clarity. Each section contains reflection prompts, small-group activities, and mentor-led discussion guides so young people can internalize answers and plan next steps.

Focus: Self-awareness, worth, and identity formed in God’s design rather than social comparison.

  • Activity: Strengths mapping & 'I am' statements (20–30 mins)
  • Reflection: List 5 things that make you, *you* — talents, values, and beliefs.
  • Mentor tip: Encourage teens to create a short identity affirmation they repeat weekly.

Focus: Understanding family, culture, and spiritual heritage — using your past as a foundation, not a chain.

  • Activity: Family & community timeline (30–45 mins)
  • Reflection: How have your roots shaped your values and dreams?
  • Mentor tip: Host a storytelling circle where each teen shares a family lesson.

Focus: Meaning and direction — connecting passions and gifts to service and impact.

  • Activity: Passion-to-purpose mapping (25–40 mins)
  • Reflection: Write one sentence that states your purpose this year.
  • Mentor tip: Use the DCE model (Dream, Capacity, Execution) to help teens plan a first-step action.

Focus: Discovering SHAPE — Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences — to identify how you can serve and lead.

  • Activity: SHAPE assessment & small-team challenge (30–60 mins)
  • Reflection: Which three talents could you use to help someone this month?
  • Mentor tip: Pair teens for 2-week micro-mentorships to practice skills and reflect.

Focus: Vision, goals, and long-term direction — translating purpose into plans and persistence.

  • Activity: Vision board + 90-day roadmap (45–60 mins)
  • Reflection: Define one bold goal for the next 90 days and 3 steps to start.
  • Mentor tip: Schedule monthly check-ins to celebrate progress and re-adjust plans.

Module extras: downloadable SHAPE worksheet, mentor guide, participant journal prompts, and session scripts available on request.
