RDCS Module for Teens
RDCS Module — Reality, Dream, Create, Speak
A practical SHAPE Teens Mentorship module from Beyond Sasa CBO that helps youth face reality, dream boldly, create solutions, and speak their purpose into existence.
RDCS is a four-step framework for youth development. It combines honest self-assessment with creative problem-solving and confident communication. Designed for teens, each step includes hands-on activities, mentor-led discussions, and measurable outcomes.
1. Reality — Face Where You Are
+Objective: Build honest self-awareness and situational clarity that becomes the foundation for growth.
- Tools: Personal SWOT, reality journal, group reality-check.
- Activity: 30-min Reality Mapping — identify current strengths, limitations, and immediate opportunities.
- Outcome: A one-page reality snapshot and mentor feedback.
2. Dream — Envision the Possible
+Objective: Free the imagination to set meaningful, purpose-aligned goals without limiting beliefs.
- Tools: Vision boards, guided visualization, storytelling of role models.
- Activity: Dream Lab (creative session) — create a visual dream board and a 1-year dream statement.
- Outcome: A documented dream plan and peer-sharing session.
3. Create — Build the Pathway
+Objective: Translate dreams into tangible projects and daily habits using design-thinking and the DCE model (Dream, Capacity, Execution).
- Tools: Project canvas, skill-mapping, mini-sprints.
- Activity: Create-a-thon — plan a small project (2–4 weeks) that addresses a local need.
- Outcome: Project plan, role assignments, and measurable milestones.
4. Speak — Declare & Share Your Vision
+Objective: Develop clarity, confidence, and influence by teaching teens to communicate their vision effectively.
- Tools: Public speaking drills, peer feedback loops, storytelling templates.
